JMU Adds South Carolina Transfer Anna Kantor

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Head Coach Tyson Thomas announced the signing of transfer Anna Kantor to the women's tennis program for the 2025-26 season.

Kantor joins the Dukes with three seasons of eligibility after spending the previous two years at South Carolina.

"Recruiting players in the transfer portal is a quick process, but it was evident early on how much of a culture fit Anna will be for us," Thomas said. "Anna had an incredible junior career, and she'll be a great fit for our coaching philosophy. We're excited to get to work and regain her level back to where it was before college and beyond."

Kantor is the second signee of the 2025-26 recruiting class, joining Georgia native Brooklyn Hoffmann.

- Went 3-0 to win Flight 4 Doubles Title at 2024 Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic
- Won three singles matches and three doubles bouts in freshman season
- Play limited due to injuries, allowing for a medical redshirt
- Achieved career-high ITF Junior ranking of #243 in May 2022
- Won pair of international junior titles in 2023 – J4 Doubles in Belgrade and J4 Doubles in Budapest
- Claimed both singles and doubles titles at 2022 Hungary U18 Championship
- ITA Scholar-Athlete and SEC Academic Honor Roll selection
