Michael Poma will enter his second year with the James Madison women's soccer program as the Dukes' Director of Analytics and Video in 2019.
At JMU, Poma is responsible for the creation and management of player, team and opposition analysis. His work includes using SportsCode for creating pre- and post-match video analysis, utilizing Python and Tableau for the creation of data visualizations and the tracking of key KPIs for team performance to aid in on- and off-the-field decision making for players and staff.
Poma will be a senior at JMU in 2019-20, but already sports a lengthy history of leadership, analysis and experience in both men's and women's soccer. For the last three years, he has coached in both the SOCA and SVU organizations, while also serving as a full-time intern for the Augusta region of SOCA, where he created offseason workout programs and training sessions, while building organizational databases to assist with player retention.
