HIGH POINT, N.C. – James Madison track and field completed the final day of action at the Bill Webb Combined Events/Bob Davidson Memorial held at High Point with multiple podium finishes and a new name into the all-time performance list.

After finishing the first day of action in the heptathlon in seventh,
Bethany Biggi catapulted into third place as she won the javelin throw at 35.90m to secure 4,275 total points. Her point total places her ninth overall in program history in the heptathlon.

Dominique Johnson began her outdoor season with a second-place finish in the discus as she launched a throw of 44.86m, just .11m behind first place. In her first meet as a Duke
Jordan Otto notched a silver finish in the high jump as she cleared 1.56 meters.

For the relays, 4x100m team of
Porsha Miles, Arianna Eberly, Lauren Smith and
Dardlie Lefevre finished the race in 47.65 seconds, crossing the finish line in third out of eight teams.

Day One Highlights
Leading the way for the Dukes in her first collegiate outdoor competition was
Shelby Staib who won the javelin throw with a mark of 43.56m, which is 1.03m further than second place. Following behind Staib in outstanding first career appearances is
Miranda Stanhope who won the 5,000m race in 17:24.84.
