RICHMOND, Va. – Five student-athletes of the James Madison track & field team have earned All-Colonial Athletic Association plaudits after their performances at the 2021 CAA Championships.

Skyla Davidson, Jordan Otto, Shelby Staib, Dominique Johnson and
Bethany Biggi earned all-conference honors after obtaining medals at the CAA Championships held at Sentara Park from April 30-May 1.

Davidson led the way for JMU at its home facility as she was the first Duke to claim a gold medal this season. In her first outdoor championship meet, Davidson recorded a triple-jump leap of 12.26 meters (40' 2.75") on her final attempt which pushed her .01 meters past the previous first-place mark to win the title.

In the high jump, Otto cleared a season-best 1.65m (5' 5") on her first attempt to claim the second gold medal for the Dukes. Her mark is good for the seventh highest jump in program history. On the first day of the championship meet, Staib took the bronze medal in the javelin throw as she recorded a distance of 43.94m (144' 2").

Biggi made a huge jump prior to grabbing the bronze medal in the heptathlon as she sat in seventh place at the start of the second day of action. Biggi finished the event with a score of 4,351 points which placed her seventh all-time in program history.

Johnson was the final Duke to receive a medal at the championships as she took home the bronze medal in the discus with a mark of 44.59m (146' 3"). This marks the second medal of her career in the discus as she was the 2019 CAA Discus Champion.
