Prior to JMU: Transferred after one year at Kansas State, where he redshirted the 2010 season... Enrolled at JMU in Spring 2011 and participated in the spring practices.
High School: Three-year starter at quarterback for Coach Chuck Markiewickz at Arundel HS in Maryland... Rated a three-star prospect out of high school by ESPN, a "player with the skills to develop into a solid starter at the major college level"... Ranked as the #46 quarterback in the nation and the #19 overall prospect in the state of Maryland by Rivals.com... Was named the 2009 Player of the Year by the Washington Post... Earned First-Team All-State, All-County and All-Metro honors as a junior and senior... Selected to play in the Maryland Crab Bowl his senior year... Holds the Maryland high school records for passing yards (7,433), touchdown passes (112) and total offense (7,882) in a career, as well as the records for passing yards in a season (3,913), touchdowns in a season (56), completions (292) and attempts (448) in a season... Led the Arundel Wildcats to an 11-1 record in 2009 and a berth in the 4A Regional Finals... Finished high school career with a 22-3 record as a starting quarterback.
