At JMU: Fifth-year Duke who is a two-year returning starter and who the JMU staff expects to move from strong safety to the free safety role occupied the last four seasons by All-America Tony LeZotte... has the talent, range and knowledge of the game to excel at the new spot and should have enhanced opportunities to stand out there as a playmaker, said defensive coordinator George Barlow.
2007: Starter throughout the year at strong safety... third on the team in tackles and first among underclassmen with 93 (team-high 53 solo, 8 for loss, 0.5 sacks)... only two tackles behind team leader Tony LeZotte... first-team all-state by the state's sports information directors.... had seven or more tackles in nine of 12 games... tied for 20th in the CAA in tackles and tied for eighth among non-seniors... had a career-best 15 stops at Delaware (10 solo) and 10 at Rhode Island (7 solo, 1.5 for loss)... had nine stops (7 solo) at Appalachian State and eight vs. Coastal Carolina (2 solo, 0.5 for loss), Northeastern (4 solo), Richmond (2 solo, 1.5 for loss) and Towson (6 solo)... had 3.5 stops for loss among seven tackles vs. Virginia Military... his interception set up a field goal vs. Richmond... recovered a fumble to stop an Appalachian State scoring threat and set up a JMU TD.
