At JMU: Fourth-year Duke who moved from running back to defense for the spring practice period... athletic performer who learned quickly during the spring and who could contend for playing time with continued development, said LB coach Kyle Gillenwater.
2007: Played in seven games at RB or on special teams... ran 10 times for 58 yards and had a reception and two tackles... ran five times for 27 yards and had a seven-yard TD catch vs. Virginia Military... ran twice for 15 yards vs. Coastal Carolina and twice for 13 yards vs. Villanova... had a nine-yard carry in both games... had assists vs. Towson and Appalachian State.
2006: Worked as a reserve RB as a redshirt freshman.
High School: Two-time all-conference and all-area and an all-state RB as a senior at Southern Vance... as a senior was conference offensive player of the year after running for school records of 2,064 yards and 33 TDs.
Personal: Finance major... brother of former JMU standout and all-A-10 DE Richard Hicks (1999-2002).
