At JMU: Returning safety starter and expected to be among JMU's top defenders... in 2005 started during his first JMU year after two junior college years and as he adjusted to the team's defense played a key role in the unit playing at its highest level of the season late in the year... "as good a defensive player as there was in the league" late in the year, JMU coach Mickey Matthews said.
2005: Came to JMU after two years at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College and previously at Buchholz High School with JMU QB Justin Rascati... JMU's No. 4 tackler with 63 (29 solo, 6.5 for loss)... had five or more stops in each of JMU's last eight games, including a season-high 11 (five solo, an assist for loss) vs. Richmond... had seven stops at Delaware and six on four occasions... had five solo stops vs. William & Mary and Villanova... had sacks vs. Delaware State and William & Mary... set up a TD with an interception at Hofstra and forced fumbles vs. Delaware State and Richmond.
Before JMU: First-team all-state and all-area as a scholastic senior and all-area as a junior... two-year starter at Hutchinson, initially as a CB and later at safety... honorable mention all-league during his second junior college year... had 61 tackles and two interceptions despite missing two games during Hutchinson’s 7-4 season in 2003... in 2004 on a 6-4 team had 116 stops (21 for loss), four sacks, and an interception.
