Track and Field's Crewe Takes 43rd at NCAA East Preliminaries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 30, 2014 - Track & field freshman Morgan Crewe (Emporia, Va./Greensville County) took 43rd place in the high jump as she represented James Madison at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Friday at North Florida University.
Crewe cleared 1.67 meters in the NCAA qualifying meet. She had advanced to the regional meet by clearing 1.76 meters at the ECAC Championships, where she took fifth place. She is JMU's current record holder in the event.
Crewe will join freshman Ebony Owusu-Sampah (Woodridge, Va./C.D. Hylton) at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon on July 5-6. Crewe will compete in the high jump, while Owusu-Sampah will be in the long jump.
