PHILADELPHIA – For the second consecutive season, James Madison track & field has a set a program record at the Penn Relays, registering a time of 3:58.33 in the sprint medley relay on Friday.

The SMR crew was composed of
Faith Fuqua (200m),
Kyndal Turner (200m),
Anna Lehman (400m), and
Bridget Koller (800m) – beating a 28-year-old school record, originally set by Zakiya Haley, Shauna Saint Cyr, Shontyá Bready, and Sarah Burkett back in 1998. Two years later, the time was matched by Seun Augustus, Heidi Moore, Bready, and Keisha Banks.

A season ago at the Penn Relays, the Dukes' 4x100-meter relay team of
Kaia Putman,
Holly Mpassy, Fuqua, and Turner ran to a tune of 45.21, which still stands as the school record in the event.

Also on Friday,
Kadence Wilson,
Mykenzie Britton,
Esther Saint-Germain, and
Christine Fitzgerald won the third heat of the 4x400-meter relay prelims, finishing in 3:45.42 to advance to the final. JMU placed sixth in Saturday's race, clocking in at 3:56.29.

In the field,
Bria Byrd took fourth in the long jump with an effort of 5.97m (19-7). The freshman has now recorded four top-five finishes in the event this season, highlighted by a PR of 6.30m (20-8) at the Virginia Challenge last weekend.
