MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – James Madison track & field picked up four more points on Friday as the team sits in eighth with 19 points after two days at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.

Senior
Maddy Hesler was the lone scorer for the Dukes, finishing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:57.57. Hesler sat in eighth most of the race before finding another gear in the final two laps.
Elsewhere on the track, sophomore
Holly Mpassy won heat two of the 400-meter dash in 55.65 to qualify for the finals, slated for Saturday at 5 p.m. Mpassy placed sixth in the conference's indoor 400-meter competition early this year, running to a tune of 55.51.

- Seniors Bethany Biggi (12th) and Erin Babashak (14th) concluded their careers with 4,466 and 4,229 points, respectively, in the heptathlon.
Track Events
- Graduate student Skyla Davidson rounded out the top 10 in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.19 (14.189).
- Seniors Sinead Sargeant and Annie Dunlop produced personal-best outdoor times of 2:16.32 (12th) and 2:19.64 (17th) in the 800-meter competition, respectively,
- In the 100-meter dash, freshman Asia Powell finished 10th in the prelims (11.74), while sophomores Kaia Putman (12.12) and Virginia Keys (12.24) both recorded personal bests.
- Freshmen Faithe Ketchum (11:21.53) and Caroline Morley (11:59.14) also PR'd in the steeplechase, with Ketchum just one place from scoring.
