NEW ORLEANS – Senior
Miranda Stanhope and junior
Jordyn Henderson were named 2024 Sun Belt All-Conference selections, the league announced on Thursday afternoon.
Â
Stanhope picked up All-Conference Second Team status after finishing runner-up in the 3,000-meter race (9:30.99) and third in the 5,000-meter (16:42.89). The Kinsman, Ohio native has picked up four medals across the last two indoor seasons, being named to the conference's second team in 2023 as well. In the fall, Stanhope was tabbed Second Team All-Conference in cross country with a seventh-place finish (5K - 17:34.9) at the Sun Belt Championship meet (Oct. 28).
Â
Henderson was named All-Conference Third Team with a bronze finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 8.30. The third-place effort marked her first time medaling at a Sun Belt Championship meet. With her performances during the indoor season, Henderson holds the JMU record in the 60-meter hurdles (8.30) and tied for seventh in the 60-meter dash (7.57), to go along with her No. 2 program time of 13.78 in the 100-meter hurdles in the outdoor season.
