FAIRFAX, Va. – The James Madison track and field team placed fourth out of seven teams at the Father Diamond Invitational on Saturday at George Mason Field House.
The Dukes saw top-three finishers in six events including two first place finishes, which led to 109.5 points on the day. Navy took first place with 201 points, followed by George Mason and VCU with 125 and 122 points, respectively.
HIGHLIGHTS
JMU saw two ECAC qualifying marks as junior
Meredith Willis finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.73 seconds and freshmen
Madelynn Knight, Maggie Linton, senior
Madeleine McCarty and junior
Erica Jackson won the 4x800 meter relay in 9:20.86. Senior
DeAna Forbes took first in the 60-meter hurdle race with a time of 8.61 seconds.
SHATTERED RECORDS
- Freshman Callee Cox broke her long jump and high jump personal record with distances of 4.96 and 1.55 meters, respectively.
- Freshman Matasha Martin improved her long jump personal record with a 5.34-meter jump on Saturday.
- Sophomore Sahna Sabbakhan set her personal record in the 500 meter dash after a 1:22.72-second mark.
