HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Seven top-three finishes including three first-place finishers, allowed the James Madison track and field team to place third out of six teams at the first-ever Marshall Women's Classic on Saturday.

The Dukes tallied 97 points in the classic while Marshall and Duquesne tied for first place with 160 points.

HIGHLIGHTS
FIRST PLACE
- Junior Meredith Willis landed atop the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.78 seconds.
- Senior De'Ana Forbes continued her dominance in the 60-meter hurdles as she placed first for the third consecutive time this season with a time of 8.94 seconds.
- Junior Erica Jackson ran a 5:07.73 mile which is her fastest this season and 3.67 seconds faster than the second place finisher in the race (Taylor Pletz, 5:11.40).
SECOND PLACE
- Senior Madeleine McCarty turned in a second-place finish in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:17.26.
THIRD PLACE
- Sophomore Jordan Bourgeois' 59.37-second 400-meter dash time led the way for the Dukes in the 400-meter dash.
- Freshman Maggie Linton followed right behind McCarty in the 800-meter race with a 2:19.56 mark.
- In the shot put, junior Sidra Morris notched a 12.63-meter mark which landed her third overall.
