HARRISONBURG, Va. – Junior
Sidra Morris set a program record as James Madison won eight track and field events and set nine personal records at the JMU Invitational on Saturday at Sentara Park.
The Dukes placed first out of four teams with a score of 69 points. Colonial Athletic Association foe Towson finished second with 66 points.
PROGRAM RECORD
Morris set the program record in the hammer throw, launching a distance of 50.55 meters.
EVENT WINNERS
Sophomore
Alexys Taylor took first in the tight-raced 100-meter dash with a time of 11.80 seconds. In the 100-meter hurdles, senior
Aereale Scott crossed the finish line in first in an ECAC-qualifying time of 14.01 seconds.
Junior
Erin Saunders dominated the 5000-meter race, crossing the finish line in 17:50.74 seconds which was a little under 1:30 faster than the second place finisher. Freshman
Averi Witt improved her time in the 1500-meter race, taking first place in 4:40.31.
Junior
Olivia Viparina ran in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 11:49.10. Taylor, Scott, junior

De'Ana Forbes set the facility record in the 4x100 relay with a time of 45.84 seconds, landing the team second in program history.
Junior
Nicolette Serratore won the javelin throw with a meet record distance of 43.42 meters, beating her own previous record in the meet (43.16 meters). Fellow junior
Dominique Johnson landed in first place in the discus throw with a personal record and ECAC-qualifying time of 47.51 meters.
PERSONAL RECORDS
Freshman
Tally Lott improved her season-best time in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish in 12.08 seconds. Junior
Erica Jackson finished second in the 800-meter race with a personal record time of 2:12.67.
In the 400-meter race, senior
Charlie Bell and junior
Kelly Oler turned in personal best times of 58.30 and 58.64 seconds, respectively.
Senior
Nora Raher set her personal record in the 1500-meter race, running into second place with a time of 4:40.88. Senior
Gina Bischof finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying and personal best time of 1:02.45.
In the shot put, Morris turned in a personal record distance of 14.64 meters which landed her in third place.
