Lexington, Va. – The Dukes took part in the VMI Winter Relays. Over the two-day meet, 10 Dukes set new personal records.
DAY ONE
Lauren Smith got the day started off for the Dukes in the 60m dash where she set a personal record.
Kelly Oler followed that up with an indoor 400m personal record of her own.
Madelynn Knight came up big in the 1000m taking fifth place in the event for JMU.
Jamie Richards tossed a new personal best in the shot put.
GOLD
Erin Saunders won the 5000m race in a field of 14 girls.
DAY TWO
Katie Fox and Cailtin Swanson led the Dukes off in the mile on the second day. Swanson set a personal best in the event as her first competing in the mile.
Sinead Sargeant took fifth in the 800m race in a field of 52 with a new personal best time.
Lilly Minor took 10
th in her first time competing in the event.
Oler and Smith took on the 200m dash for the Dukes. Oler competed in the event for the first time in the Purple & Gold. Smith set a new personal best.
Following her personal best shoput throw from the day before, Richards tossed the weight throw for a new best distance.
