HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison track & field wrapped up its weekend bringing in two more ECAC qualifiers in the relay crews. JMU now has two relays and three individuals in four events qualified for the ECAC Championships

RALEIGH RELAYS DAY ONE
The field events got started off with the shot put.
Dominique Johnson, who already qualified for the ECAC Championship recorded a mark of 13.68m (44'10.75").
Sidra Morris was .02m off of a qualifying mark.
Â
Anoush Stamm came out in the 400m with an ECAC qualifying time of 56.31. Her time was good for 12
th out of the 79 runners.

Johnson continued her day in the discus where she came out with a strong fifth place finish. She put up a mark of 47.41m (156'6") in the event.

FRED HARDY INVITATIONAL DAY ONE
The distance group took on the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by Richmond. This was the outdoor opener for the group.
Olivia Viparina started the Dukes off in the 3000m steeplechase. The senior started off slow through the opening 400m and picked up the pace to breeze past Delany Savedge of VCU. The two went toe-to-toe but in the final 1000m, Viparina was able to take off to win the event with an ECAC qualifying time of 10:48.96, which was also a meet record.Â

Erica Jackson earned a spot in the 800m Invitational run, she set a personal best time with her fifth-place finish. She beat her personal best mark by .29. She stayed just behind Kendra Smither of Richmond in the opening 400m. The senior then raced past Smither to finish fifth.

The Dukes wrapped up their first day with
Kayla Connelly taking part in the 1500m for the first time in the Purple and Gold. She finished sixth in the event.

RALEIGH RELAYS DAY TWO
Morris put up a strong performance in the hammer throw. It was her best throw of the season.

The 4x100m relay squad qualified for the ECAC Championship with their 46.59 time. The run is the ninth fastest in program history for the relay, which was also good for a third-place finish at the meet.

Following the 4x100m, the 4x400m team also took home third place with their 1:38.53 finish. It is the fifth fastest relay time in JMU history.

Nicolette Serratore came out strong in the javelin and took home third in the event. She went to work on the first throw of 46.35m (152'), which would ultimately be her furthest throw of the event.

JMU wrapped up the Raleigh Relays with another ECAC qualifying time. The 4x400m crew took to the track and finished in 3:50.80 to qualify for the Championships.

Sophomore
Averi Witt came away with a third-place finish in the 3000m run. Senior
Erin Saunders took home a ninth-place finish in the event.
Katie Fox and
Jodi Tolarchyk paced each other through the 3000m to finish one right after the other.

The Dukes will head to Williamsburg, Va. for the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary. The meet begins on Friday, Apr. 5.
