HUNTINGTON, W.V. – James Madison track & field finish tied for first in the Marshall Women's Only Meet on Saturday held at Marshall.
The Dukes scored 150 points to tie with host Marshall atop the competition. Ohio finished third with 110 points and Morehead State secured 30 points.
Freshman
Paris Beaver won her first collegiate event as she posted a 1.62m high jump mark. Fellow classmate
Bethany Biggi followed behind in second with a leap of 1.57m. Sophomore
Tess Lee recorded a personal best in the long jump, finishing second with a distance of 5.25m.
In the mile race, freshmen trio
Laura Webb (5:11.52),
Maddy Hesler (5:12.69) and
Megan Keady (5:12.85) took first through third, respectively. Sophomore
Anoush Stamm dominated the 800m race, setting the meet record in an ECAC qualifying time of 2:12.95.
Senior
Meredith Willis began her final season on a high note, winning the 60m race in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.75 seconds as well as placing first in the 200m race with an ECAC qualifying time of 24.80, just .01 seconds off the meet record.
Personal Records
In the 60m preliminaries, sophomore
Lauren Smith ran a personal best 8.02 seconds and in the 200m race she ran a personal best 26.63. Junior
Sophie Bollinger set her personal record in the 800m race with a time of 2:21.79.
