LEXINGTON, Va. – James Madison track and field began its 2021 season with multiple top-5 finishers led by freshman
Erica Moolman's pole vault win on Saturday at the Keydet Invitational held at VMI.

In her first collegiate action, Moolman won the pole vault with a mark of 3.50 meters which was .15 meters ahead of freshman
Rachel Lloyd who finished second at 3.35m. To begin the meet, freshman
Bethany Biggi landed in third place in the high jump with a leap of 1.55m.

In the long jump, freshman
Dardlie Lefevre secured second place with a distance of 5.56m while freshman
Erin Babashak set her personal record at 5.39m, good enough for fourth place. Babashak also set her personal record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.29 seconds.

Additionally, Lefevre set her personal record in the 60m race (7.91) and she finished third out of 26 runners in the 200m race with a time of 25.30. In the 400m race, freshman
Tiana Lewis set her personal record with a time of 1:03.97.

Porsha Miles finished second in both the 60m preliminary race and the 60m finals, crossing the finish line in 7.81 seconds in the prelims and 7.79 in the finals. Miles secured second place in the 200m race in 25.29 seconds.

Shelby Staib started her season out on a good note with a second-place finish in the triple jump, leaping 11.03m.
