FAIRFAX, Va. – Rachel Lloyd led the way with a record-book finish at the Mason Spring Invitational for the James Madison track & field team on Sunday at George Mason.

Lloyd bested her pole vault mark as she cleared a distance of 3.53 meters which catapulted her into second in program history above fellow teammate
Erica Moolman in third (3.52 meters, Colonial Relays 2021).

Joining Lloyd in moving up ranks in the record book was
Danielle Little who launched a season-best throw of 45.30m in the hammer throw to land in sixth in program history. Little finished sixth out of 15 throwers at the meet.

Shelby Staib continued her dominance in the javelin throw as she improved her personal best throw to 44.73 meters which landed her in second out of 20 competitors.
Bethany Biggi earned a podium finish in the high jump as she jumped into second place, tying her personal record with a leap of 1.63 meters.

In the shot put,
Dominique Johnson landed in fifth place with a mark of 12.81 meters while securing a second-place finish in the discus with a season-high distance of 48.87m.

Leading the way for the Dukes on the track was
Dardlie Lefevre who crossed the finish line in third place in the 100m dash in a personal record time of 12.26 seconds. Following behind Lefevre in fourth place was
Porsha Miles in 12.29 seconds.

Miranda Stanhope improved her 5,000m time as she placed fourth in 17:23.04. In the 3,000m steeplechase,
Maddy Hesler finished in fifth in 11:40.47. All Dukes who ran in the 200m race set their personal record led by Lefevre (sixth place) with a time of 24.76 while Miles and
Leyjah Hamrick finished in 25.05 and 25.89 seconds, respectively.
