BLACKSBURG, Va. –
Arianna Eberly recorded a top-10 program mark as the James Madison track & field program wrapped up day one at the Virginia Tech Invitational inside Rector Field House on Friday night.
Eberly clocked in at 1:15.85 in the 500-meter race for third in the competition, surpassing her previous-best time of 1:17.99. Her 1:15.85 effort ties for tenth in the JMU record book with former Duke
Zakiya Haley, who registered the same time in 1997.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Track
- Junior Jordyn Henderson finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.59.
- In the 60-meter dash, junior Kaia Putman produced a PR of 7.71 for 11th.
- Junior Holly Mpassy notched a fourth-place finish in the 300-meter dash in 39.12.
Field
- Freshmen Marlayna Concannon and Maddie Moles tied their career-high marks of 3.50m (11-5.75) for sixth and eighth in the pole vault, respectively.
- Freshman Evelyn Goetz recorded a leap of 5.22m in the long jump in her collegiate debut.

The Dukes will be back tomorrow to conclude the Virginia Tech Invitational. Action in Blacksburg is slated for 11 a.m., starting with the women's high jump.
