NEW ORLEANS – James Madison track & field received academic team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced by the organization.

As a team, the Dukes were honored for its 3.214 grade-point average, highlighted by nine student-athletes with a 3.5 or higher. JMU has been named to the All-Academic team list by the USTFCCCA every year since 2012. Earlier this summer, senior
Miranda Stanhope earned 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® laurels after wrapping up her final collegiate season with a 3.981 cumulative GPA, finishing with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring term.

To be named an NCAA Division I All-Academic Team, the cumulative GPA (not 2023-24 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
