LEXINGTON, Va. – James Madison track & field saw a trio of top-three finishes and two all-time top 10 performances at the VMI Invite on Saturday at the VMI-Corps Physical Training Facility.

Erin Babashak highlighted the Dukes' top finishes with her first-place mark in the long jump, while
Rachel Lloyd etched herself into the record books once again with an all-time top 10 performance in the pole vault.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Babashak jumped 5.45m to win the long jump.
- Lloyd finished second in the pole vault with her mark of 3.50m to rank sixth in the all-time top 10 for the indoor pole vault.
- Also having a stellar performance in the pole vault was
Maddie Croteau with her fourth-place mark of 3.20m. Croteau tied her personal best, which is also the 10
th-best mark in JMU history.

Bethany Biggi was another one of the Dukes' top finishers as she earned second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.60m.
- Leading JMU in the 200m was
Holly Mpassy with her third-place time of 25.36. Following close behind was
Sofia Lavreshina in fourth (25.41),
Arianna Eberly in fifth (25.61), and
Dardlie Lefevre in sixth (25.66).
- In the 60m dash,
Kaia Putman crossed the finish line at 7.90 for fifth place.

Jenae Bowers registered a mark of 12.32m in the shot put to finish fifth in the event.

- "We only competed a select few this weekend," commented head coach
Ron McCown. "It was a positive meet for us overall. Congratulations to Erin for winning the long jump. Her win along with several other top three performers was a good way to start 2022. We look forward to competing again next week with a larger group."
