VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – James Madison track & field posted 10 event victories at the Oceanfront Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.
JMU tallied 209 points for the team win, followed by Fayetteville State (100) and Christopher Newport (72).

Sophomore
Kadence Wilson put on a show, recording her first-ever event title in the long jump with a leap of 5.42m (17-9.5), running the opening leg for the winning 4x400-meter relay team (3:48.78) and placing second in the 400-meter dash (57.52).

Track
- The quartet of Wilson, junior Virginia Keys, graduate student Arianna Eberly and junior Holly Mpassy clocked in a season-best 4x400-meter relay time of 3:48.78 for first.
- Junior Jordyn Henderson notched a victory in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.50.
- Classmate Kaia Putman recorded a PR of 7.67 for gold in the 60-meter dash.
- Sophomore Katherine Lawson won the mile competition in 5:03.98, followed by Miranda Stanhope (5:14.57) in second.
- The Dukes swept the 400-meter dash with junior Holly Mpassy (54.93), sophomore Kadence Wilson (57.52) and graduate student Arianna Eberly (57.65).
- In the 800-meter competition, junior Sofia Terenziani crossed the finish line in 2:23.62 for first, while freshman Alayna Gifford was third in 2:25.30.
- JMU went 1-5 in the 3,000-meter race, led by Lawson in a personal-best 9:51.79, followed by Stanhope (10:20.02), freshman Kristin Giordano (10:46.83), fifth-year McKenzi Watkins (10:54.76) and freshman Sarah Cestare (11:16.20).
Field
- Senior Jordan Venning recorded a season-best of 12.18m (39-11.5) in the triple jump for first.
- Freshmen Maddie Moles and Marlayna Concannon went 1-2 in the pole vault with marks of 3.35m (10-11.75) and 3.20m (10-6), respectively.
- Junior Jaiden Martellucci started the day with a second-place effort of 14.44m (47-4.5) in the weight throw.
- Sophomore Jorja Rich tied her career-best indoor high jump mark of 1.58m (5-2.5) for second, while senior Paige Miller took fourth at 1.55m (5-1).
