LYNCHBURG, Va. –
Jordyn Henderson highlighted day one of the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational for James Madison track & field with a school-record time of 8.34 in the 60-meter hurdles prelims on Friday afternoon at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
Henderson's time broke her previous school record clip of 8.39, set at last year's Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 21. Coming into the meet, the league leader in the event was Georgia State's Valissa Brown with a time of 8.40.
How It Happened​​​​​​
- Earlier in the day, Henderson clocked in at 7.64 in the 60-meter dash prelims, tied for 10th in the JMU record book with teammate Kaia Putman.
- Senior Miranda Stanhope registered a season-best of 9:56.19 in the 3,000-meter race.
- Junior Holly Mpassy placed fifth in the 400-meter dash invite in 56.08, while sophomore Kadence Wilson notched a season-best time of 57.51.
- In the long jump, freshman Evelyn Goetz recorded a PR of 5.42m (17-9.25)

The Dukes will complete their time at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational tomorrow, starting with the women's high jump open at 9 a.m. From there, JMU will prepare for the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 19-20.
