Miranda Stanhope earned her first career victory at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships to highlight the second day of competition at the league meet on Friday.

Stanhope crossed the finish line in 35:24.43 with a 1:10.26 final split to top Marshall's Abby Herring (35:37.96). The senior has picked up two Sun Belt gold medals in her career, having previously won the 3,000-meter run at the conference indoor meet in 2023. Meanwhile, fifth year
McKenzi Watkins scored by placing eighth in 38:07.38.

Through eight events scored, Louisiana leads with 57.5 points, followed by Arkansas State (2nd – 54) and Texas State (3rd – 52). With 23 points, James Madison is tied for fourth with ULM.
