At JMU: Fourth-year Duke and a two-year CB starter… also has handled JMU’s punt return duties… has good speed and outstanding pass coverage skills, said DB coach Chip West… on JMU career lists begins 2004 tied for 16th place in interceptions, fifth in interception return yards (141), ninth in punt return yards (223), 10th in punt returns (22) and fourth in punt return average (10.1).
2003: Played in each of JMU’s 12 games, the first 10 as a CB starter… team leader with seven pass deflections and was 10th in tackles… had two tackles for loss… team’s top punt returner, averaging 10.1 yards (fifth in the A-10) on 22 returns… had a season-high seven tackles vs. Hofstra (five primary) and William & Mary (six primary)… vs. Hofstra had a 31-yard interception return, a 24-yard punt return to set up a JMU TD, and 33-yard free kick return to the Pride 37 to set up JMU’s winning TD with 0:54 left… A-10 specialist of the week for his play vs. Hofstra… broke up two passes and had a 70-yard punt return (eighth longest in team history) for a TD at William & Mary… took part in six stops vs. Richmond and four vs. Liberty, Virginia Tech, and Maine… had an interception vs. Rhode Island.
2002: Starter for much of the year but missed four games (Florida Atlantic through Maine)… led the team with three interceptions and 76 return yards… returned a fumble 53 yards for a TD at Rhode Island… had interceptions vs. New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and William & Mary… returned the interception vs. William & Mary 55 yards, matching the fifth-longest such play in team history… had six tackles at Delaware (five primary) and Northeastern (four primary) and five at Richmond.
2001: Started late in the year as a true freshman… returned an interception 34 yards at William & Mary… had a season-high nine tackles in consecutive games at Maine (six primary) and Villanova (nine primary)… had eight tackles (seven primary) at Massachusetts and five vs. Northeastern and Liberty.
High School: All-district, all-region and all-state as a senior RB at Courtland… second-team all-state DB as a senior and punted… four-year letterman and on two state playoff teams, including a semifinalist squad… three-year varsity basketball player.
