At JMU: Fifth-year Duke and a two-year starter… consistent and had had his best JMU season in 2003, said OL coach Curt Newsome… good zone blocker who has improved his footwork and developed his pass protection skills… started each 2003 JMU game and all but two 2002 contests… missed 2002 starts vs. Villanova and Delaware but returned to the starting lineup for the team’s last five games… in 2001 as a red-shirt freshman worked as an OL reserve and was on the team's travel squad throughout the year.
High School: Two-way starter, captain and MVP as a Jefferson senior… all-area, all-league and all-state OL for a team with a 1,500-yard rusher… on defense had 63 tackles (26 solo)… second-team all-area OL as a junior… played as a freshman and sophomore in Huntington, W.Va.
Personal: George H. Burns IV… born Sept. 2, 1982… kinesiology major with an exercise science concentration.
